Katie has been such a gift! Her comprehensive approach to nutrition and overall health has helped me adjust my lifestyle and intake in a very accessible and practical way. I have generally been a healthy eater, but my weakness has always been sugar – despite eating a mainly plant based diet and exercising regularly, I would indulge (too often) in sweets. This has been a lifelong habit that I thought I could “get away with it” since I felt it balanced out somehow with the other healthy things I did. As I get older, that balance has for sure shifted in weight gain and chronic digestive issues. Katie has been so informative in providing information on how to truly step away from processed sugars/foods and make healthier choices that are just as easy and satisfying! In just the past 8 weeks since she has been working with me, I have seen an improvement in bloating, my weight, and a huge bonus: my sleep!

She is very knowledgeable, compassionate, and professional, and provides such in-depth and individualized recommendations that it makes the journey doable and exciting. She is always ready to educate and provide information. She has inspired me to learn and do so much more, and I can’t wait to see what’s next! I trust her advice and I know she really cares about helping her clients reach their goals and lead a healthier, happier life. Her caring and dedication shine through! Thank you!!

I have been working out with Katie twice a week for the past year and a half.

As an active athlete, I play tennis, ice hockey (2 times a week) and windsurf (in the summer, I also plan on learning to surf this summer). Working out with Katie has improved my overall strength and flexibility, increased my core strength and helped me work on isolated muscle groups. She always challenges me to do my personal best but is also very forgiving when my body just won’t.

Katie has also helped me learn what vitamins I should be taking to stay healthy and what foods to avoid (sugar), that tastes so good but can cause inflammation.

In addition, through life events (MCL injuries to both knees), Katie knows how to tailor your exercise routine to stay fit and recover. Overall, I have raised my fitness level substantially, and more flexible and eat healthier. Thank you Katie!!

I struggled with stomach discomfort my entire life. I tried everything, went to every doctor. Katie was so invested in helping me, and she was so approachable and kind in our interactions. Her recommendations have truly changed my life. I wholeheartedly trust Katie with my health.

In 2015 I had 5 major surgeries.  January of 2016 found me at 73, old, sick, exhausted and essentially non functional.  I lost all creativity, no longer cooked (couldn't stay on my feet long enough to do it, if I had wanted to) and slept most of the day.  Katie had been my personal trainer, had just enrolled in a nutritional therapy course and was researching nutrition as a piece of the puzzle to battle her husband's cancer.  She called me and told me about the ketogenic diet.  It was like a life line.  I began February 1st, 2016...chose the date on purpose incase this really worked:)  By the third day, I was up for half a day! At the beginning of March I returned to teaching Tai Chi.  By the end of March, I was able to assist in teaching some line dancing classes!

By introducing the way of eating and following up closely and thoroughly with education...the science of why it works is fascinating!...Katie was key to my recovery and giving me a way to not just live but thrive.  She introduced me to Jimmy Moore via his book, Keto Clarity and Maria Emmerich...in person.  She sparked an insatiable interest in me for the why's and how to's of living a purposefully healthy balanced life.  Our friendship is a gift from God.

So now, at a healthy 75, I'm trying to decide what to do with this knowledge...nutritional therapy, health coach, homeopathy?  Since I will probably live another 25 years or so...let's not waste it!! Bless you, Katie!

At 35 years old, I began struggling with the ever expanding waist line, couldn't seem to control food cravings, and struggled getting back in shape after a cancer diagnosis. Then 3 years later, Katie helped change my diet to a high fat diet and maintain it for the past 3 years. It has been liberating to be in control of my appetite rather than my appetite in control of me. I lost 40 pounds, changed my body composition, have more energy than I did when I was in my 20's, and am keeping my immune system healthy to try to remain cancer free.

I loved working with Katie! I have been struggling with my weight since college and when I wasn't able to do hardly anything physical for over a year due to a knee injury that later was surgically repaired, I gained even more due to my extreme sedentary lifestyle. I needed to change other habits, because even if I wasn't hurt I wasn't exactly living an active lifestyle anyways, truth be told. I also struggle with insomnia and daytime sleepiness, so for the past several years I've been medicated with prescriptions to keep me awake through the day and to make me fall asleep at night, and each day I continue the cycle, over and over. I hate that my life revolved around pills to basically function at a sub-par level.

I had seen lots of buzz around the word "keto", mainly on pinterest, and I was curious and to me the logic seemed obvious, but as with any trends on the internet, I wanted to talk to somebody more informed. I had met Katie through similar hobbies and saw her posts on her and her family's journey with the switch over to a keto lifestyle. I thought she'd be the best person I know to start somewhere.

Our first meeting was great and very informative. I understood the basics prior to meeting, but she helped delve into more of the specifics and science (without overwhelming my non-science-y brain). She loaned me a personal book of hers, 'Keto Clarity' by Jimmy Moore and referred several other books for me to work my way through. I was given loads of suggestions for minimizing the keto flu and  helping my body with the transition and to later optimize.

I created my own diet plan, week by week, per the guidelines Katie provided me with my macro counts to stick to and using myfitnesspal app to track my meals. I stayed strong for about 8 weeks and lost about 18lbs total. I was floored by that progress, and this was a couple months post knee surgery for me, so my mobility was still limited and this drop in weight was with almost zero addition of exercise. Dropping the weight felt great because it was a very obvious thing, pants were looser and blouses hung better, etc etc. But what started to happen after about 5 weeks, I started to notice I was forgetting to take my medications (which totally is allowed, both were a "take as needed" kind of thing) and before I always needed it. I had this huge shift into a daily life of being able to wake up energized, last all day long and be tired, really tired for bed and sleep the whole night through. That was amazing, since it's been over 8 years since I've been able to do that with any kind of consistency. The other benefit was the missing, but not missed, feeling of being hungry! My appetite normalized and my craving stopped. My husband even commented that he noticed my "snacking" had all but stopped.

But the best thing about this process was that Katie went above and beyond to check in with me throughout the whole time and kept offering advice and guidance and encouragement the entire time. Even when I had fallen off the wagon. No judgement came my way, and I know she'll be there to support me in the future. Feels great to know someone's in my corner, cheering me on!

Thank you Katie for how much you have shared with me and the support you have offered. It's been a great experience and I'm excited to know that I have you around to help me at any point in this lifestyle change. Gives me the confidence to keep going and keep learning!

Katie provided me with both emotional and physical support during my illness caused by Psoriatic Arthritis.  She was training me during the years before, during and after the seven joint replacement surgeries I had.  She helped me regain my strength and was always very positive when working with me.  She also introduced me to the Ketogenic diet which I have been on now for three years – with great success.  Her enthusiasm and encouragement have been wonderful for my recovery and I still call her often for her opinions and guidance regarding the Keto diet, nutrition and exercise.  She has been an irreplaceable go-to person who has provided support and knowledge to me.

Katie is amazing!  She has been my personal trainer for years and has helped me through many health issues.  She guides me with her knowledge of the body and nutrition.  Katie helped me recognize that I am extremely magnesium deficient, and suggested I add a magnesium supplement.  Since I started the magnesium supplement many things in my life have been positively effected.  No more cramps, my eczema is greatly improved, I sleep better, and overall just feel better.  I feel grateful for the time that I have been able to work with Katie, she really knows her stuff!

I have been training with Katie for six years. Initially I needed to change my routine and get the most out my workouts. After having a child Katie provided creativity and expanded my fitness tremendously and has continued to help me achieve my goals. She is aware of all of my fitness endeavors outside the gym and trains me to improve my performance in those arenas as well. I have had two major orthopedic surgical repairs and Katie has found ways to train me while protecting my recovery and not losing ground. When I was diagnosed with Graves disease and secondary blood sugar dis-regulation, Katie knew Keto would help my blood sugar battle and hormone regulation. She helped me understand the Ketogenic lifestyle and how it would help manage my disease. I have been Keto for two years now and continue to seek her counsel with Keto nutrition and practice. My overall fitness and health has been drastically improved thanks to Katie’s willingness and ability to assist in so many ways. This complete approach to health has been invaluable and I’m so grateful to have a knowledgeable, sensible and supportive guiding hand in my journey.

I’ve trained with Katie for several years which has been awesome! But, beyond that she has made an amazing impact on my life in terms of coaching and educating me on the Ketogenic lifestyle. My husband and I now follow the high fat low carb lifestyle and it has made us feel so much better, recontoured our bodies and helped with rosacea and allergies. She is so passionate in her quest to improve people’s health and her work to educate others on how what you eat impacts your short and long term health ! She also runs our Mindbody book club to continue our education and that has been so great, I’ve also been able to meet others with like minds!

In March 2019 I was a sore, menopausal, technically obese woman. I had joint pain, wasn’t sleeping well at night, was exhausted, mentally foggy, stressed out and bloated all the time, had crazy sugar/carb cravings and was generally in need of a health tune up. Amidst it all, I was halfheartedly trying to eat healthy and was forcing myself to exercise once a week, which, lucky enough, was how I first met “Keto Katie." She filled in as my Pilates instructor and I happened to be the only student that night, so I jumped at the opportunity to ask her about keto. By the end of class, I knew I wanted to try keto and felt confident that Katie could help me do it the right way.

I started with an initial consultation and immediately added six monthly follow-up sessions. Now, (in October 2019) I can hardly believe how much better I look and feel. My joint pain is gone, I can zip up and down stairs without issue, I fall asleep easily and am able to sleep all night, I feel mentally sharp, I don’t have cravings, I’ve lost my bloat along with 26 pounds, and people have even commented on my energy level.

Katie’s been so patient as she’s guided me to figured out what foods work best for my system, coached me beyond some cheat days, and recommended supplements to balance out a few deficiencies. I can’t say enough good things about my experience and plan to keep working with Katie. I’ve still got some health goals I’d like to achieve, but I now feel like they’re just a few months away versus nearly impossible.

Over the last 10 years I have done both low carb and keto with success, but with the ‘diet’ mindset. I would lose a decent amount of weight, but with the first birthday party, holiday or vacation it would be over and I would gain it all back, and more. My family ate completely different than me and I always felt alone in this journey. Now that I am in my 50’s, it is more urgent than ever that I get the weight off and live a lifestyle that will help prevent some pretty frightening illnesses. Keto can do that for me, and Katie has helped me move it from the ‘diet’ mindset to the ‘lifestyle’ mindset. She is helping me with my physical needs, sleep and minerals and focusing on the parts of the puzzle I was missing. With Katie helping me I no longer feel alone in the journey and I feel much more confident that I can reach my goal and sustain it for the rest of my life.

I have had Katie as a trainer for over 8 years. I had a goal to lose 50+ pounds as I entered retirement. She is an excellent teacher. I was able to lose 60lbs and am thankful for her guidance in training and dietary control. I feel very lucky to have attained my goals and confident that I couldn’t have succeeded without her persistence.

Katie Newman, "Keto Katie", has been instrumental to me on my keto journey. After months of trying the keto way of eating on my own, with minimal success, Katie helped me fine tune my diet while adding certain supplements tailored to help with issues specific to me. Katie's knowledge, thorough instruction, and follow-up have given me the confidence to push through my plateau. Now I am truly enjoying the benefits of a high-fat low-carb lifestyle. I feel great, and my weight is on the downswing again. Thank you Katie!
